By Mei Han, massage therapist in Dubai Updated 11 August 2026
If you search for “massage spa Dubai” or “massage spa near me”, you may imagine treatment rooms, reception and spa facilities. I am not a venue. I am Mei, a female therapist who brings a massage blanket to your home and works on your own bed or sees you by appointment in a studio, offering a quieter, more personal alternative.
Am I a spa? No — and here’s when that matters
No, I am not a spa, and I do not pretend to be one. I am an experienced independent therapist providing strictly professional massage for women and men, either through a home visit or in a studio.
A spa is built around a wider experience, with facilities such as treatment rooms, changing areas, steam rooms, pools, lounges and several treatments. If you want that atmosphere, a spa may be the right choice.
My work is more focused. I bring my massage blanket, clean sheets, massage oil and chosen treatment to your home. You do not need to arrange transport, wait in a lounge or return to traffic afterwards.
The general definition of massage covers many traditions. My appointment list is deliberately limited to the services I actually offer:
- Deep tissue
- Swedish & relaxation
- Sports & recovery
- Prenatal & postnatal
- Lymphatic drainage
- Aromatherapy
I do not offer every technique associated with a spa menu. Keeping the list clear helps me prepare properly and helps you book with realistic expectations. For a simple comparison, read spa massage versus home massage.
Spa vs a therapist who comes to you
A spa is usually better for facilities and a complete day out; a home visit is usually better for privacy, continuity and avoiding the journey home. Neither option is automatically superior. The difference is what surrounds the massage and what you want your time and money to achieve.
| What matters | Spa | My home visit or studio |
|---|---|---|
| Environment | Treatment rooms and, depending on the spa, steam, pool or lounge facilities | Your familiar room or a calm studio appointment |
| Journey | You travel there and usually back afterwards | I come to you, or you visit the studio |
| Privacy | Shared building with staff and other guests nearby | Private appointment with proper draping |
| Continuity | Therapist availability may vary | You can request the same therapist: me |
| Price structure | Varies by venue, treatment and facilities | Home AED 400 per hour; studio AED 300 per hour |
| Time flexibility | Follows available spa slots | 60, 90 or 120 minutes at the same hourly rate |
| Afterwards | You still need to get home | You can shower, rest and continue your evening |
A spa may have a wider menu, useful if you want massage alongside other treatments or facilities. My service is straightforward: choose one of six options, agree the time and location, and know what the appointment includes.
At home, I ask for a bed I can make up and a comfortable room temperature. You can choose quiet, low lighting or your normal home setting. Some people relax more easily without leaving their personal environment after treatment.
For current prices, see massage pricing in Dubai. Home visits are AED 400 per hour and studio appointments AED 300 per hour. There is no deposit. Cash is preferred, with bank transfer available on request.
When a spa is genuinely the better choice
A spa is genuinely the better choice when you want steam, a pool, a lounge, a full change of environment or a social outing with friends. If those features are central to your plan, booking a venue makes more sense than asking a home therapist to recreate them.
You may prefer a spa when:
- You want to spend several hours away from home.
- You want steam, a pool or relaxation facilities.
- You are planning a birthday, girls’ day or shared outing.
- You want several treatments in one building.
- Your home is busy or difficult to prepare.
- You want to feel looked after from arrival to departure.
- You are staying in a hotel with a spa.
Sometimes the venue itself is the point. Changing clothes, walking through a quiet reception area and having time before and after the massage can create a sense of occasion that a home appointment does not need to imitate.
A spa may also help you switch off if home reminds you of work, children, chores or unfinished tasks. The main question is what you are paying for: a spa includes its setting and facilities, while my home visit provides treatment, privacy and no journey afterwards.
If you are unsure, my page about having a spa experience at home in Dubai explains the practical side. It remains a home appointment, not a spa building, but it may suit a quiet evening.
When a home visit wins
A home visit wins when you want the massage to fit around your day, when privacy matters or when you do not want to drive through Dubai after relaxing. Staying where you are is especially useful after deep tissue, sports recovery or a longer session.
Home visits are often practical when:
- You have a tight schedule and want to avoid travel time.
- You want an evening appointment.
- You are at home, in a private residence or in a suitable hotel room.
- You prefer one consistent female therapist.
- You feel more comfortable in familiar surroundings.
- You are caring for a child or cannot easily leave.
- You want to avoid traffic, parking and the journey back.
- You want to rest instead of getting straight into a car.
A massage may leave you calm, heavy or pleasantly tired. After focused work on your back, shoulders, legs or hips, you may not want to drive, find parking and sit in traffic. At home, you can drink water, shower, put on comfortable clothes and let your body settle.
I also understand the value of continuity. With me, you know who is arriving, what boundaries I keep and how I structure the appointment. I work with both women and men, always strictly professional, with proper draping and clear communication.
Massage can help ease muscular tension and support relaxation, but it is not medical care. If pain is persistent, severe or accompanied by numbness or radiating pain, see your doctor or physiotherapist. NHS guidance on back pain and sciatica can help you recognise when assessment matters.
If a home visit suits you, message me on WhatsApp with your preferred duration, area and massage type. I will confirm whether the timing and location work.
What my home visit includes
My home visit includes my massage blanket for your own bed, clean sheets, massage oil and one of six listed treatments, with proper draping and a strictly professional approach. The home rate is AED 400 per hour; the studio rate is AED 300 per hour. Sessions are 60, 90 or 120 minutes at the same hourly rate.
For a home appointment, I bring what is needed for the treatment. You provide a private, reasonably warm space with room to move around the bed. Before beginning, I discuss your preferences, areas of concern and relevant health information, then adjust pressure and pace during the session.
The six options are designed for different needs:
- Deep tissue for focused muscular tension and firm work.
- Swedish & relaxation for flowing, calming massage.
- Sports & recovery for active bodies and post-training support.
- Prenatal & postnatal for suitable stages around pregnancy and after birth, subject to appropriate health considerations.
- Lymphatic drainage for gentle, rhythmic work. It does not detox the body or cause weight loss.
- Aromatherapy for relaxing massage using selected oils, with sensitivities discussed beforehand.
I do not present these as guaranteed cures. Massage may help ease tension, relieve everyday muscular discomfort, support recovery or manage stress. If you have a medical condition, recent procedure, unexplained symptoms or concerns, speak with your doctor or physiotherapist before booking.
The rates are:
| Appointment | Rate |
|---|---|
| Home visit | AED 400 per hour |
| Studio appointment | AED 300 per hour |
| 60 minutes | Same hourly rate |
| 90 minutes | Same hourly rate |
| 120 minutes | Same hourly rate |
| Deposit | No deposit |
| Payment | Cash preferred; bank transfer on request |
I cover selected areas across Dubai, depending on the day, timing and travel distance. Check the current Dubai massage service areas, or send your location when enquiring. My massage services page gives the same six-option menu.
To arrange a private appointment, message me on WhatsApp. Tell me whether you want a home visit or studio session, your preferred 60, 90 or 120 minutes, your area and the massage type. I will reply with availability and practical details.
Frequently asked questions
Is a massage spa in Dubai better than a home visit?
It depends on what you want. Choose a spa if you want steam, a pool, a lounge, a change of environment or a day out with friends. Choose a home visit if you value privacy, flexible timing and resting at home afterwards without driving through Dubai.
How much does a home massage cost in Dubai?
My home visit costs AED 400 per hour. Studio appointments cost AED 300 per hour. The same hourly rate applies to 60, 90 and 120 minutes. There is no deposit; cash is preferred, and bank transfer is available on request.
Do you offer massage spa services near me in Dubai?
I provide home visits in selected Dubai areas, depending on availability, timing and location. I also see clients in a studio by appointment. Send me your area and preferred time on WhatsApp, and I will confirm whether I can come to you.
Do you massage both women and men?
Yes. I am a female therapist and welcome both women and men. Every appointment is strictly professional, by appointment and conducted with proper draping. I offer only deep tissue, Swedish & relaxation, sports & recovery, prenatal & postnatal, lymphatic drainage and aromatherapy.
Can massage help with back pain or sciatica?
Massage can help ease muscular tension and support comfort, but it is not a replacement for assessment. If your pain is persistent or severe, or comes with numbness or radiating pain, see your doctor or a physiotherapist before arranging a massage.
