By Mei Han, massage therapist in Dubai Updated 18 July 2026
I’m Mei, an independent female massage therapist in Dubai, and I work with a lot of people who simply don’t have time to sit in traffic for self-care. The appeal is straightforward: I come to your home or apartment in the evening, so you reclaim the hour a spa would cost you in travel. A good session can help ease desk-bound neck and shoulder tension and lower stress. A home visit is AED 400 an hour, with evenings available up to 23:00.
The problem with “I’ll book a massage when I have time”
If you work the kind of hours Dubai runs on, that day never quite arrives. By the time the calendar clears, driving to a spa, waiting, showering and driving home turns a one-hour treatment into a three-hour outing you don’t have. So it slides — for months — while the tension quietly stacks up.
A home visit solves the maths. There’s no commute, no car park, no reception, no small talk on the way out. You finish work, I arrive, you have your hour, and you’re in your own bed ten minutes later. For busy people, removing the logistics is the difference between actually doing it and endlessly meaning to.
What a desk and a phone do to your body
Most professionals carry stress in the same places, and it’s usually the setup, not the person. Hours hunched toward a monitor push the head forward and round the shoulders; the upper back and neck take the strain and knot up. Add a phone held between ear and shoulder, a laptop on the sofa at night, and a jaw clenched through back-to-back calls, and by Thursday your shoulders are somewhere near your ears.
Firmer deep tissue work targets those specific knots in the neck, shoulders and upper back, helping to release the tightness and restore some movement. If the ache is more about being wound-up than genuinely knotted, a slower Swedish and relaxation massage does more for you — flowing pressure that talks your nervous system down rather than digging in. When you book, just tell me whether you want a specific area worked or a full switch-off, and I’ll steer you to the right one.
If it’s persistent, sharp or sending pain or tingling down an arm, see a doctor or physiotherapist first — massage supports you, but it isn’t a substitute for a proper assessment.
De-stressing without losing an evening
Stress isn’t only in your head; it lives in shallow breathing, a tight chest and shoulders that never quite drop. An hour of focused, quiet touch gives your body permission to come off high alert. Many of my clients say the mental reset is worth as much as the physical relief — they think more clearly and sleep better that night.
I won’t pretend massage fixes an overloaded workload; managing your hours and sleep matters more. But as a reliable pressure-release valve for a demanding week, a regular session earns its place. Some people book me for a stubborn knot; others simply hold a recurring evening slot because it keeps them functioning. If you’re weighing whether it’s for you, message me on WhatsApp and I’ll tell you honestly what a session would and wouldn’t do for your situation.
Deep tissue or Swedish — which fits your week?
A quick way to choose:
- Go deep tissue if you can point to the ache — a locked-up shoulder, a stiff neck, a specific band across the upper back. You want targeted relief.
- Go Swedish and relaxation if nothing’s exactly injured but you’re fried — you want to stop thinking, breathe, and reset. Ideal after a punishing stretch or before a big week.
Plenty of clients alternate depending on how the week has gone, and I’ll adjust the pressure on the day regardless of what’s booked. If you’d like to know more about how I work and what to expect, my Dubai massage therapist page walks through it.
Booking around a packed calendar
I’m available daily from 10:00 to 23:00 by appointment, which is deliberately late — most of my professional clients book from around 20:00 once the day’s finally done. Same-day is often possible when a deadline week gets on top of you.
I come to homes and serviced apartments right across the city, and I regularly visit the business districts — Business Bay, DIFC, Downtown and the Marina among them. I bring the table, linens and oils, set up in your living room or bedroom, and pack everything away afterwards.
Making it a habit, not a rescue
Most people come to me the first time because something has seized up. The ones who feel the biggest difference are those who then stop waiting for the next crisis. There’s no right frequency and no package to sign — but if your job reliably knots you up, a session every two to four weeks keeps you ahead of the tension rather than forever firefighting it. Think of it the way you’d think of the gym or a haircut: small, regular upkeep that quietly stops bigger problems forming. Start with one, notice how the following week feels, and let that set the rhythm. It’s the appointment that protects all the others.
When your commute became your sofa
If you now work partly from home, you might assume your body got the easier deal. Often it’s the reverse. A dining chair and a laptop are harder on your neck than a proper desk, the working day bleeds into the evening, and the natural movement of getting to and around an office has quietly vanished. So the tension is the same or worse — you’re just building it up in softer furniture. A home session meets that head-on: I come to the very room the tightness was made in, and you don’t have to go anywhere to undo it. Plenty of my clients book me precisely because their “office” is now their kitchen table.
A quick word on posture and pain
Massage helps the muscles, but it works best alongside a few changes you make yourself — raising your screen to eye level, getting your feet flat and your lower back supported, and standing up every half hour or so. I’m happy to point out where you’re holding tension and what tends to feed it. One honest caveat: if pain is persistent, sharp, or sends tingling or numbness down an arm, that’s a sign to see a doctor or physiotherapist rather than book another massage. A good therapist should make themselves unnecessary for anything that needs a doctor.
Prices and booking
A home visit is AED 400 an hour and a studio session is AED 300 an hour, in 60, 90 or 120-minute lengths at the same hourly rate. No deposit, and payment is cash on the day (bank transfer on request). The full breakdown is on my pricing page — no membership tiers, no packages, just a clear rate.
When the week’s caught up with you, message me on WhatsApp with your area and a time after work. I’ll confirm a slot, come to you, and give you an hour that’s genuinely off. It’s the one meeting worth keeping.
Frequently asked questions
Do you do evening massage for professionals in Dubai?
Yes. I'm available daily from 10:00 to 23:00 by appointment, so a late session after work is easy — and often same-day. I come to your home or apartment, so there's no commute to a spa and no clock-watching. Message me with your area and a time that suits and I'll confirm.
How much is a home massage for professionals in Dubai?
A home visit is AED 400 an hour and a studio session is AED 300 an hour, in 60, 90 or 120-minute lengths at the same hourly rate. There's no deposit and payment is cash on the day (bank transfer on request). Coming to you saves the round trip a spa would cost your evening.
Which massage is best for desk neck and shoulder pain?
For screen-bound tension in the neck, shoulders and upper back, deep tissue work targets the knots directly. If you're more wound-up than knotted, a Swedish and relaxation session lowers stress instead. Not sure which? Tell me whether you want relief from a specific ache or a full mental switch-off and I'll recommend one.
Can massage help with stress from a demanding job?
It can help ease the physical side of stress — the clenched shoulders, tight neck and shallow breathing — and give your nervous system an hour to reset. It's not a substitute for managing workload or sleep, but a regular session helps a lot of professionals stay on top of it. Book whenever a heavy week calls for it.
Can you come to my apartment in Business Bay or DIFC after work?
Yes. I bring a proper table, fresh linens and oils to your home or serviced apartment across Dubai, including Business Bay, DIFC, Downtown and the Marina, then pack it all away. Evening slots up to 23:00 make it easy to fit around late finishes. Just send your area and preferred time.
