Massage in JBR after the beach: skip the spa search on The Walk — a female therapist comes to your apartment or hotel

Short answer

Yes — I come to apartments in all six JBR plots (Rimal, Sadaf, Murjan, Bahar, Amwaj, Shams) and to JBR hotels, daily 10:00–23:00 by appointment and often the same day. A visit is AED 400 an hour with no deposit. Send your building or hotel and room on WhatsApp.

I’m Mei, an independent female massage therapist who comes to JBR by appointment. Below: spa or your own apartment, what to tell reception, which massage suits a beach day, what it costs, whether tonight is possible, and what to send me.

Spa on The Walk or a massage in your apartment?

If you’re after a sauna, loungers and a slow half-day off, a beachfront hotel spa earns its price. If you want the massage itself, at a time that suits your evening and with no stroll back along The Walk afterwards, have it in your apartment or hotel room. When it ends, you’re already home.

Jumeirah Beach Residence is a long row of towers on the sand between Dubai Marina and the sea. At street level runs The Walk, all cafés and shops; on the sand sits The Beach, the open-air mall. The tram stops at JBR 1 and JBR 2, and Bluewaters Island with Ain Dubai sits just offshore. Spas are in the beachfront hotels, and there are massage places around the area. I don’t review other places, so here is the trade-off as I see it:

  • A hotel spa offers the whole ritual, from sauna to slippers, on its own timetable.
  • Your own room offers your bed, any start between 10:00 and 22:00, one therapist you can rebook directly, and sleep straight afterwards.

My view for a beach holiday: keep the spa for a windy day when the sea is rough, and have the massage in your room on the night you want to sleep deeply.

Holiday apartment or JBR hotel: what to tell reception

Tell reception, security or your host that a therapist called Mei is coming, and when. Then send me your plot and tower number (Sadaf 4, not just Sadaf) with your flat, or the hotel and room number. If the building or hotel signs visitors in, I carry ID. That’s all it takes for me to come straight up.

  • Holiday lets. Ask the host which entrance guests use and whether security keeps a visitor list.
  • Hotels. Check that visitors may go up to rooms; policies differ. My guide to hotel massage in Dubai covers what to ask.
  • Parking. It’s paid around JBR and fills early at weekends. That’s my problem to plan for, not yours; I’ll message when I’m close.
  • Before I arrive. Shower off sunscreen and sand, because oil doesn’t work over either, and set the aircon to comfortable rather than cold.

There’s nothing for you to set up: my massage blanket and a clean sheet go over your bed, and both go home in my bag. Every session is strictly professional therapeutic massage, by appointment, with proper draping, for women and men alike.

After the beach: which massage?

After a beach day, go gentle: a Swedish or aromatherapy massage at light-to-medium pressure, with sun-exposed skin handled lightly and sunburnt skin left alone. If you ran or trained instead of lounging, ask for recovery work on the legs. Save deep pressure for a day you haven’t spent in the sun.

  • Sun-tired and sleepy. A slow, full-body Swedish & relaxation massage, 60 or 90 minutes. Drink water before I arrive; hours in the heat are tiring in themselves.
  • Straight off a long-haul flight. The same slow session on arrival night, an hour before bed, so a body still running on another timezone can unwind.
  • Red shoulders or back. Mention it in your booking message. Burnt patches get no oil and no pressure, and if the redness covers most of your back, we pick another day. How to judge it is on my sunburn and massage page.
  • After a beach run or a watersports session. Legs, hips and shoulders, firmer. If something hurts sharply after a fall or a wipe-out, see a doctor or physiotherapist before you book.

How much is a massage in JBR?

A massage in your JBR apartment or hotel room is AED 400 an hour: AED 600 for 90 minutes, AED 800 for 120. There’s no deposit and no travel fee, and you pay cash afterwards or by bank transfer if you ask in advance. If you’d rather come to me, the studio is AED 300 an hour.

An app booking is cheaper per hour: Urban Company lists a 60-minute Swedish massage at home at AED 149 (a third-party price I saw in October 2026, which can change). With me you’re paying for a direct booking: the therapist you message is the one who knocks on your door, at the price we agreed in the chat. Every length is on my home massage prices page.

Send me your tower or hotel on WhatsApp and you’ll hear back with a start time and price.

Can I book tonight?

Often, yes. I work daily until 23:00, so a 60-minute massage can start as late as 22:00 and a 90-minute one by 21:30. Message by mid-afternoon for the best chance of an evening slot. If you’ve just landed, send your arrival time and I’ll suggest a start that leaves you time to shower.

Weekend evenings are the busiest time to drive into JBR, so a slot with an hour’s flexibility is easier to confirm than an exact time. How same-day booking works across the city is on my page about a massage near you in Dubai.

Booking in JBR

Send one WhatsApp message with your tower and flat or your hotel and room, how many of you, the length (60, 90 or 120 minutes) and a rough time. You get back a start time and the exact price, nothing is fixed until you say yes, and no deposit is needed to hold the slot.

Two of you? I can treat you back-to-back in one visit, or bring a former colleague, also a female therapist, so you’re treated side by side. Across the tram line in the Marina towers, see my Dubai Marina page; a short drive away on the Palm, my Palm Jumeirah page.

Questions about massage in JBR

Is there a massage spa on JBR Walk?

There are spas in the beachfront hotels and massage places in and around JBR, and I don't review them. What I offer instead is a massage in your own apartment or hotel room: you pick the time, there's no walk back along The Walk afterwards, and you're already home when it ends. Book on WhatsApp, daily 10:00–23:00, by appointment.

Can you come to my JBR hotel room?

Yes. Check with the front desk that a visiting therapist can go up to your room, then send me the hotel name and room number on WhatsApp. If the hotel signs visitors in, I carry ID. I make up the bed with my own massage blanket and fresh linens, and the session is strictly professional with proper draping throughout.

How much is a massage in JBR?

A visit to your JBR apartment or hotel room is AED 400 an hour: AED 600 for 90 minutes and AED 800 for 120. There's no deposit and no travel fee. You pay in cash after the session, or by bank transfer if you ask beforehand. If you'd rather come to me, the studio is AED 300 an hour.

Can I get a massage after a day at the beach?

Yes, and it's a good moment for a gentle one. Shower off sand and sunscreen first, drink some water, and choose Swedish or aromatherapy at light-to-medium pressure. If you're sunburnt, tell me when you book: I leave burnt skin alone, and if it covers your back or shoulders we move the session to another day.

Do you come to holiday apartments in JBR?

Yes, holiday lets and serviced apartments in all six plots, from Rimal to Shams. Ask your host which entrance guests use and whether security needs my name, then send me the tower number and flat. I bring everything, including a massage blanket for the bed, linens, towels, a headrest, a bolster and oils, so you need nothing from the host.
