In-room massage at your Dubai hotel: can a therapist come to your room, what hotels allow, and what it costs

I’m Mei, an independent female massage therapist who comes to hotel rooms and serviced apartments across Dubai. This page covers what your hotel will ask, what happens when I knock, how the price compares with the spa downstairs, and which massage suits a long flight.

Can a massage therapist come to my hotel room in Dubai?

Yes. A professional massage therapist can come to your room as a pre-arranged visitor, as long as you follow your hotel’s visitor process. I visit hotel rooms and serviced apartments across Dubai daily from 10:00 to 23:00, by appointment, and set up on your bed with my own massage blanket and fresh linens. You don’t need to prepare anything.

Are visitors allowed in hotel rooms in Dubai? What to tell reception

Usually yes, but every hotel sets its own rule. Some note a visitor’s name and details at reception, some ask you to come down and meet the visitor in the lobby, and some limit visiting hours. Ask the front desk before you book, then tell me what they said, so the arrival is smooth and your massage starts on time.

One sentence to reception is enough: “I’ve booked a massage therapist to come to my room at 8pm; is there anything she needs to do when she arrives?” No long explanation is needed. Then send me:

• the hotel name, and which tower or entrance if the property has more than one;
• the name reception will have on its list, if they keep one;
• whether you’ll meet me in the lobby, and if so, allow a few minutes before the start time;
• your room number, once the time is confirmed. It doesn’t need to be in your first message.

Serviced apartments work the same way, with a security desk, lift access or visitor parking instead of a front desk. A building name and a location pin prevent confusion where there are several towers or driveways. I can’t override a hotel’s policy, and I wouldn’t want to: a calm arrival is part of a relaxed session.

Hotel spa or in-room massage: price and what you get

A hotel spa charges for the building as well as the massage. The Palazzo Versace spa lists AED 550 for 60 minutes, and ServiceMarket puts hotel spa experiences at AED 600–1500 and up (prices seen in October 2026). In-room with me is AED 400 an hour, with no deposit or service charge, and you’re already in bed when it ends.

The spa is the better choice when the steam room and pool matter as much as the massage, or you’d rather nobody came into your room. If your hotel has a lovely spa and you have a free afternoon, go. What happens when I arrive at your room

I come up with one bag, make up your bed with a massage blanket, a fresh sheet, a headrest and a bolster in about five minutes, then we talk briefly about pressure and anything to avoid. I step out or turn away while you get under the towel, and your booked time starts when the massage does, not when I knock.

1. Arrival. Reception calls up, or you meet me in the lobby, whichever the hotel prefers.
2. Set-up. Everything goes on the bed; nothing in the room needs moving. Just clear luggage off it.
3. A short chat. Where it hurts, how firm you like it, allergies or scent sensitivity, pregnancy, recent procedures.
4. The massage. Proper draping throughout, with only the area being worked uncovered. Ask for more or less pressure, a pause or a stop at any point.
5. Afterwards. You stay where you are. You pay in cash or by transfer, I pack away, and I leave the bed as I found it.

If another adult is staying with you and you’d like them to remain in the suite, that’s fine. Travelling as a couple? Which massage after a long flight?

Match it to how the flight left you. Aromatherapy if you’re wired and jet-lagged and want help winding down; lymphatic drainage if your ankles and feet are puffy; Swedish if you simply want to sleep. Save deep tissue for a day later, once you’ve slept and drunk some water.

Aromatherapy is a relaxation massage with essential oils you choose, and I’m honest about the oils: the research on aromatherapy is modest, so I treat scent as a pleasant part of switching off rather than a remedy. What helps jet lag most is light and sleep at local times, as the NHS jet lag advice explains; an evening massage just makes going to bed at Dubai bedtime easier. One safety rule: if one leg is swollen, painful, warm or red after a flight, see a doctor before any massage, because those can be signs of a blood clot (DVT).

Same-day massage in your hotel: how late can I come?

Often the same day, if you message early. I work daily from 10:00 and finish by 23:00, so the latest start is 22:00 for 60 minutes, 21:30 for 90 and 21:00 for 120. Message in the afternoon for an evening slot; if I’m full, I’ll offer the next real time rather than a maybe.

Landing late? Message me from the airport with your hotel and landing time, and I’ll tell you honestly whether tonight works or tomorrow morning is better. A rushed 22:00 start after a night flight is rarely the massage you want; sometimes a 10:00 session the next day, after a proper sleep, does far more. I don’t work after 23:00, so if you need someone in the small hours, an app or a 24-hour service is your only option, and the hotel’s visitor rules still apply.

Hotel massage in Downtown, JBR, Palm Jumeirah and the Marina
