Honestly, very little. I bring my massage blanket, fresh linens, oils and quiet music, and I work on your own bed — so you only need a quiet room, the bed you already sleep in, and somewhere to freshen up if you like. Have a glass of water ready and wear something loose. That really is all it takes — most of the “preparation” is simply relaxing before I arrive.
What I bring, so you don’t have to
The best thing about a home massage is that the hard work of setting up is mine, not yours. I arrive with my massage blanket, clean linens and towels for every client, a choice of oils, and quiet music if you’d like it. You don’t need to own any equipment, borrow anything, or move heavy furniture.
Within a few minutes of arriving I’ll have your bed made up for treatment — blanket, fresh sheet, headrest — and I pack it all away just as quickly at the end, leaving the bed exactly as I found it. You’re paying for a complete, professional experience brought to your door — nothing about the setup falls to you.
The space I need (just your bed)
All I need is a bed. I don’t bring a folding massage table — I lay a dedicated massage blanket over your own bed, add a fresh sheet and a headrest, and work there. It’s wider and steadier than a portable table, and you’re lying on something you already find comfortable. Any normal bed works, from a single to a king; the only thing I ask is room to stand along at least one long side.
If a bedside table or a chair sits tight against the bed, shifting it before I arrive saves a moment; otherwise we’ll do it together, no trouble at all. If you’re at all unsure whether your room works, a quick photo on WhatsApp settles it instantly.
A quiet, comfortable atmosphere
A little thought about atmosphere goes a long way, though none of it is essential. A room that’s on the cooler side is ideal, because you’ll warm up under the towel and I can always adjust — being too warm mid-massage is harder to fix than being cosy. If you can lower harsh overhead lights or draw the curtains, that helps your nervous system switch off; I bring soft music, but your own playlist is welcome too.
And if you share your home, letting the household know you’ll be having a quiet hour keeps interruptions to a minimum. The aim is simply to feel unhurried and undisturbed for the time we have.
Want me to talk you through your particular space or building before you book? Message me on WhatsApp with your area and I’ll happily answer any questions.
A few minutes before I arrive
There’s almost nothing to do, but a handful of small things make the hour nicer. Have a glass or bottle of water ready for afterwards. Pop to the loo before we start, so you can relax fully once you’re on the bed. Take off watches and jewellery, and set your phone to silent.
If you’d like to shower, now’s the time. Beyond that, resist the urge to tidy the whole flat — I’m not there to inspect your home, only to give you a good massage, and a slightly messy room makes absolutely no difference to me.
Showering, food and hydration
A quick shower beforehand helps you feel fresh and relaxed, but it’s a courtesy rather than a requirement — don’t stress if there isn’t time. I’d gently suggest skipping heavy body lotion or oil on the day, as a clean, dry skin surface lets the massage oil work properly; light everyday deodorant and perfume are absolutely fine.
Try not to eat a large meal in the hour before your massage, since lying face down on a full stomach is uncomfortable — a light snack is fine. And drink some water before and after; it’s not a magic detox, but staying hydrated simply helps you feel better afterwards.
Parking, access and privacy in Dubai
A couple of practical Dubai details make my arrival smooth. If you’re in an apartment or serviced building, let me know about visitor parking, or whether reception or security should expect me as your guest — many towers in areas like Dubai Marina, Business Bay or Downtown need this. A quick note on the floor and unit number, and whether there’s a lift, saves time at the door.
If you’re in a hotel, I’m discreet and used to arriving professionally; just share the hotel and room details when we confirm. Everything is by appointment and strictly private. You can read how I work across the city in my guide to the best home massage in Dubai.
The two-minute checklist
If you like a simple list, here’s everything in one place. Decide which bed you’d like me to make up. Have a bottle of water ready. Set your phone to silent and let anyone at home know you’ll be having a quiet hour. Keep a towel and something loose to wear afterwards within reach.
Have a quick shower if there’s time, and skip heavy body lotion on the day. That’s the lot — six small things, none of them urgent, and I’ll handle absolutely everything else when I arrive.
What if my apartment is small?
Plenty of my clients live in compact studios and one-beds, and it’s never a problem — because I work on your bed, a small flat needs nothing cleared. If the bed sits against a wall, I work from the open side; if a chair or bedside table is in the way, we shift it for the hour and put it back afterwards.
If you’re still unsure, send me a quick photo of the room on WhatsApp and I’ll tell you honestly how I’d set it up. I’ve worked in some surprisingly cosy spaces.
Your first home massage: what happens when I arrive
If you’ve never had a therapist come to you, here’s how it goes so there are no surprises. I’ll arrive at the agreed time, dressed professionally, and make up your bed with my massage blanket — it takes just a few minutes. We’ll have a brief chat about what you’d like and anywhere that needs attention or avoiding.
Then I’ll step out or turn away while you get comfortable under the towel, and we begin. At the end I pack away, you settle up in cash, and you’re free to rest. It really is that relaxed, and by your second booking it feels completely routine.
After the massage
It’s worth planning the after as much as the before, because it’s the best part. You’ll be warm, relaxed and possibly a little sleepy, so keep the rest of your evening gentle if you can — a home visit is popular precisely because you can drift straight to bed once I’ve gone. Have your loose, comfortable clothes within reach, sip some water, and give yourself a few unhurried minutes before leaping back into things.
To choose the treatment you’d like, browse the full range of massages I offer, and see my straightforward rates — AED 400 an hour at home, no deposit — on the pricing page. When you’re ready, send me a message on WhatsApp with your area and a preferred time, and I’ll bring everything to you — often the same day, cash on completion.
Frequently asked questions
What do I need to prepare for a home massage?
Very little. A quiet room, your own bed and a glass of water. I bring my massage blanket, fresh linens, oils and quiet music, and make the bed up myself when I arrive. Wear something loose to relax in afterwards. That's genuinely all.
Do I need to provide anything for a home massage?
No. I bring my massage blanket, fresh linens, towels and oils, so you don't need equipment — I work on your own bed. Just have a towel handy if you'd like a shower afterwards. My home-visit rate is AED 400 an hour across Dubai, no deposit.
Do you bring a massage table, and how much space do you need?
I don't bring a folding table — I lay a dedicated massage blanket over your own bed and work there, which most people find far more comfortable than a narrow table. So the only space I need is room to stand along at least one side of the bed. If you're unsure, send me a photo on WhatsApp and I'll confirm it works.
Should I shower before a home massage?
A quick shower beforehand is a nice touch and helps you relax, but it isn't essential. Skip heavy lotion or oil on the day so the massage oil can glide. Light deodorant is fine. If you've just trained, a rinse helps you settle, but only if it's convenient.
How far in advance should I book a home massage in Dubai?
A day or two ahead secures your ideal slot, but I often have same-day availability between 10am and 11pm. Message me on WhatsApp with your area and preferred time and I'll confirm quickly. There's no deposit — you pay cash on the day once you're happy.
