Pregnant and still working at a desk?
Sitting with a growing bump deepens the curve of the lower back and tightens the hips and the backs of the thighs, so that’s where prenatal sessions focus. You lie on your side with a pillow under the bump, one between the knees and one under your head, and roll to your other side for the second half. I use plain, unscented oil throughout pregnancy and keep the pressure moderate. In the third trimester, 60 minutes is usually more comfortable than 90.
When should you wait and call your doctor?
Hold off and contact your doctor or midwife the same day if you notice sudden swelling of the face, hands or feet, a severe headache or blurred vision, any bleeding, or a calf that’s painful and swollen on one side.
