Lymphatic drainage massage in JVC

Book lymphatic drainage at home in JVC when you want ordinary, two-sided puffiness to ease: ankles after a flight, legs heavy after a hot week, or a waterlogged feeling before an event. Sixty minutes covers the legs and feet; 90 goes head to toe. It is not a detox and won’t help with weight loss. Can I have it while pregnant or after the birth?

Swollen feet are common in late pregnancy, and some puffiness can linger for a while after the birth. During pregnancy, I’ll only do gentle leg work with your doctor’s or midwife’s agreement, with you lying on your side, as part of a prenatal massage in JVC. Sudden swelling of the face, hands or feet is a different matter: contact your doctor or midwife that day. After the birth, wait until your postnatal check before booking.

What should you do before and after?

• Tell me about your health first. A heart, kidney or clotting condition, or recent surgery, needs your doctor’s go-ahead before lymphatic work.
• Drink normally. There’s no need to force down litres of water beforehand.
• Move a little afterwards. Walk around the flat for a few minutes, then put your feet up. Your calf muscles help move fluid, so gentle movement carries the session on.
• Ignore the scales. Any change there is water, not fat, and it comes back.

The session itself is quiet and very light. I use little oil, so my hands stretch the skin rather than slide over it, and many people drift off.
